Split Pea Soup

Good day all! With the change of weather from spring to summer, we must not forget foods that can keep you warm inside but taste great. Here is a simple recipe that taste great, quick to put together and great for the entire family. Just throw some bread on the table and yes all done.

Split Pea Soup

2 cups dry split peas, 1 lb.
1 1/2 cup chopped onions
2 1/2 qtrs.. water
1 lb. ham hock or meaty ham bones
2 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped celery
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup cubed potatoes
1/4 tsp. marjoram
1 cup sliced carrots

Wash peas, combine with water, spices, and ham. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 1/2 hour.
Add celery, potatoes, carrots, and simmer 30 minutes more, covered.
